OPTIMISTIC CHARADE

(TOPIC: POSITIVE EMOTION)

 

Instructions

  • GET STUDENTS INTO GROUPS OF THREE OR FOUR

  • IN THEIR GROUPS ASK STUDENTS TO SHARE ONE THING THAT THEY REALLY ENJOYED THIS WEEK

  • ONCE ALL STUDENTS HAVE SHARED A “POSITIVE EVENT” WITH THEIR GROUPS ASK EACH GROUP TO CHOOSE ONE EVENT

  • ONCE EACH GROUP HAS CHOSEN THEIR “POSITIVE EVENT” THEY CAN HAVE A SHORT TIME TO PUT TOGETHER A CHARADE THAT DEMONSTRATES THE “POSITIVE EVENT”

  • ONCE ALL GROUPS ARE FINISHED, ASK EACH GROUP TO TAKE TURNS ACTING OUT THEIR CHARADE IN FRONT OF THE CLASS (REMIND STUDENTS NOT TO USE WORDS).

  • THE CLASS CAN TRY AND GUESS THE “POSITIVE EVENT” WHILE IT IS BEING ACTED OUT.

PURPOSE: ACTIVELY THINKING ABOUT POSITIVE THINGS THAT HAPPEN DURING THE DAY IMPROVES WELLBEING. USE THIS ACTIVITY TO GET STUDENTS THINKING AND SHARING ABOUT WHAT MADE THEM HAPPY TODAY!
