POSITIVE IMPACT PROJECT - SESSION 7:

IDEA TO ACTION

In session 7 we really start to get the ball rolling in terms of our Positive Impact Project. Here we begin thinking of ideas for a project which aligns to the vision your group came up with in the last session. Through more group discussions, brainstorming, and voting if necessary, we select an idea for a project and go through the planning process to make this idea become a reality. Check out the video to begin your Positive Impact Project planning.

ACTIONS TO TAKE:

  • Once you have finished watching the video continue to complete the Idea to Action framework in your Positive Impact Project workbooks, starting with the Idea Generation Wheel on page 9. Individually think of ideas your project team could use and then openly and respectfully discuss these ideas as a group. Take it to a voting process to determine what idea your leadership team will use for your project. Keep in mind, you are not just to think of an activity to run, but a project which will have a real Positive Impact on others in your school community.

  • Continue your Idea to Action framework on page 11 by completing each section step-by-step. It is crucial that you think of as many details as you can, and record those details as you go throughout this planning process. Don’t think any detail is too little to write down. As this is a team project everyone is to record the details of the planning process. This ensures no one is left behind and all are a part of the process.
