ONLINE GROUP INTERVIEW INFORMATION
Greetings and welcome to the next mile in your UPP journey. Congratulations on making it this far. Most people have now been excluded from the process, so you are now part of a select group.
Below is an outline of what to expect in your group interview as well as some familiarisation videos we would like you to look at before we move forward.
Pre-interview preparation
INTRODUCTION TO UPP- In order to consider if this is the right role for you, we ask that you review the following information prior to our group interview. Watch the following videos and practice the activity below, in order to prepare.
Our Values video above (10 minute video from Luke McKenna, our Founder and Director)
NEXT, WATCH THE NEXT VIDEO ABOUT What we do (7 minute video from Pete McAuliffe, a team leader here at UPP)
Then, Practice for Laser Tag (see instructions below)
You may like to have a further look around our web page to orientate yourself.
The role
Please see the Position Description and Pay Levels for UPP Facilitators and Senior Facilitators here.
If, after watching these videos and considering this information, you feel our futures are not aligned, no problem! We understand we may have different paths to follow. Please just let us know.
If, however, our vision and work resonate with you, please continue on to the interview process by accepting the calendar invitation to a Google Meet interview that I have emailed to you.
The interview process
The interview will occur on Google Meet and you can expect to have the other shortlisted candidates, plus a few of the existing UPP team in attendance. Please check that Google Meet works at your end during the next couple of days (by logging in on the device you will use for the interview), to ensure you have access. Please email me to confirm you have access.
The Google Meet group interview will consist of four parts:
PART 1- INTRODUCTION ABOUT OUR HISTORY, VISION, VALUES, THE ROLE AND UPP TEAM
PART 2- GROUP INTERVIEW PROCESS- 3-5 questions will be asked to each candidate
PART 3- FACILITATING AN ACTIVITY (see details below)
PART 4- WRITTEN QUESTIONS (please download the questions, ready to complete and return after your interview). Once downloaded, open it as an editable .pdf (or copy paste to a word document if you wish), make your changes and then save the file. Finally, submit to admin@unleashingpersonalpotential.com.au after your group interview (deadline TBA in the interview).
FACILITATING ANOTHER ACTIVITY- details
During the interview, we will ask you to show us first hand how you would demonstrate your presence. You will demonstrate this activity only in front of the panel, not in front of the other candidates. You will not have a student to use, so you are to do it pretending that a student volunteered.
Note that the aim of this is not to run a perfect activity, but to demonstrate your presence and any improvements you might put into place since you sent through your Hip Touch Challenge. Do it with joy in your heart and demonstrate how you would lead this activity for 120 year 8 students.
LASER TAG
Laser Tag- watch the video here . This is just something we built for our team, but it gets the point across.
The basic steps are listed below. You should aim to do this activity in the interview in about 3 minutes or less.
Get student volunteer.
Explain (jokingly) that this is a very dangerous game.
Handshake, Cool grip, then point only your index finger up (this is the laser).
Explain that the aim is to get a point by tagging your partner on or under the knee with your laser.
You need to charge up the laser by cranking your arm (like a chicken wing flapping) 3 times .
If you get a tag, you lose your charge and need to recharge by striking your foot 3 more times.
When the music starts so do you, when the music stops so do you.
Say βgoβ, monitor the group, and then stop them and sit them down.
Transition: Take a seat moving in eyes on me sitting up straight legs crossed.
Good luck as you move through this process!
Kind regards,
Marra Fuentes
