POSITIVE IMPACT PROJECT - SESSION 4:
DIFFERENT LEADERSHIP STRENGTHS
Welcome to Session 4. Here, we will dive into how we are all different and how that is a great thing when it comes to anything in leadership, especially project work. In particular, we look at 3 types of leaders; Prophet leaders, Planner leaders and People leaders.
“LEADERS ARE NOT BORN... THEY’RE GROWN.”
ACTIONS TO TAKE:
It is now time to look at what type of leader you may be. Turn to page 5 in your Positive Impact Project workbook. To complete the ‘Leadership Strengths Inventory’ simply read each statement and answer with a 3 if you agree, a 1 if you disagree, or a 2 if you are unsure or somewhere in the middle. Each section has a small box at the bottom which is where you will add the 5 previous numbers up.
Section 1 resembles Prophet leader strengths, section 2 resembles Planner leader strengths and section 3 resembles People leader strengths. The section with the highest total shows where your leadership strengths are currently. Note that this may change over the course of your leadership journey. Consider how your leadership strengths will help your team moving forward.
After completing this, turn to page 6. Put yourself in the shoes of each type of leader and consider what details each of them may like to see on a party invitation. Write some of these details in the space provided. Once you have completed these pages, have a group discussion about your findings on your personal leadership strengths, thoughts about each type of leader, how they are all as important to each other, and how they may work together in a group.
