Tackling the overwhelm with Mental Toughness
Grounded in the research of Sports Psychology and Cognitive Hardiness, attendees learn to apply the 4C’s of Mental Toughness (Clough & Strycharczyk, 2011) to better manage every day pressures. This includes reflecting on goals we are trying to achieve, how we respond to challenge, identifying areas we can and can’t control, and acknowledging areas we feel confident.
Applications for mental toughness in schools
- An understanding of the 4C’s of Mental Toughness (Control, Challenge, Commitment, Confidence).
- Examples of how to apply the 4C’s in a teaching day.
- A framework to reflect for themselves and for students
