POSITIVE IMPACT PROJECT - SESSION 6:
CASTING THE VISION
Welcome to the 6th session in our Positive Impact Project series. Here, we consider the question ‘What Do We Stand For?’ In particular we will look at how these projects are to be for the benefit of others and not particularly ourselves. We will also look at the process of casting the vision to begin thinking of where your leadership team can have a positive impact through a certain project.
“PEOPLE DON’T CARE HOW MUCH YOU KNOW UNTIL THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE.”
ACTIONS TO TAKE:
After watching the video, turn to page 8 in your Positive Impact Project workbook and individually take time to consider what YOU stand for. What is something YOU are passionate about? Take the 17 Sustainable Development Goals into account when thinking about this. After you have considered what you stand for, have a group discussion and share your thoughts respectfully.
As a group, write all ideas on a white board or piece of paper, prioritise the top 3 ideas by taking it to a vote. Continue to respectfully discuss and vote until you have one shared vision in mind. Keep in mind that your idea may not be the one the group chooses to go with, and that is okay.
Once your group has chosen a vision, complete the bottom section of page 8 by considering how important this issue / area is and how it would be detrimental for your school not to address it. Once again, share your thoughts in a group discussion.
